What Is NCCER?
NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) is a nonprofit organization created by major construction companies to set industry-standard training and credentials for the construction and skilled trades workforce.
NCCER credentials are widely accepted by employers, contractors, and training programs across the U.S.
Who Is NCCER Core For?
This program is ideal for:
First-time trade students
Apprentices and pre-apprentices
High school CTE students
Adults changing careers
Anyone preparing for a registered trade program
Individuals seeking entry-level employment in the skilled trades
What Students Learn (14-Week Course)
NCCER Core teaches the essential knowledge and hands-on skills every tradesperson needs, including:
Jobsite and workplace safety (OSHA-aligned)
Construction math
Introduction to hand and power tools
Basic construction skills
How to read simple construction drawings
Rigging and material handling
Jobsite communication and professionalism

Certification & Career Pathways
Students who complete the program earn a nationally recognized NCCER Core Certification, which:
Shows employers you have fundamental trade skills
Helps you qualify for entry-level job opportunities
Prepares you for advanced training in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, welding, and other skilled trades
Why Employers Value NCCER
Employers trust the certification because it demonstrates the student is trained in:
